Laminate flooring

Laminate Flooring consists of a decorative sheet (real wood look) protected by a resin called Overlay, an HDF (High-Density Fiberboard) backing that is sometimes water-repellent for use in damp rooms, and a counterbalancing layer to ensure the floor's stability.

Essentially made of wood composite, Laminate Flooring is not considered to be a Parquet floor in the strict sense. Although its lifespan is more limited than that of a wooden floor, Laminate Flooring is a practical and economical solution, ideal for medium or short-term use. More and more sophisticated, modern Laminate Flooring is a realistic imitation of wood floors, mimicking the wood species and patterns: Herringbone, Chevron.

Most offer a glueless Click System for laying planks, which is quicker, cheaper and accessible to all DIY enthusiasts. Good to know: Laminate flooring is compatible with underfloor heating if you use a suitable underlay for floating installation.
