VIDEO : The nailed down 

It is the oldest method of laying solid parquet floor. This involves nailing the planks onto sealed joists in the screed at regular intervals. This installation is only used for at least 20 mm thick solid parquet floor. If the joists are tight enough, you can nail an engineered parquet if the layers are thick enough.
