What types of wood flooring can be installed over an underfloor cooling system?
Some kinds of wood flooring can, under certain circumstances, be installed over an underfloor cooling system:
Choose solid or engineered wood flooring of low thickness (‹ 10 mm) and made from wood species rated at usage class 3.
The flooring’s thermal resistance must be less than 0.09 (m2 K/W). Compatibility with the underfloor cooling system must be clearly indicated by the manufacturer.
Employ the glue-down method for the whole flooring installation, using a glue guaranteed suitable for the purpose. Use floor leveling compounds and associated primers.Do not cover the wood floor with carpet.
NOT COMPATIBLE: solid wood flooring laid on battens, floating engineered wood flooring, and laminate flooring.
