Compatible with CE standard

Europe ensures that the products sold in the European area meet criteria at the security level, at the environmental level. To do this, a number of so-called "CE" standards apply. Parquets must be tested and must comply with a formaldehyde, VOC, etc. content. A document called DOP, which contains all of these measures, is supplied by our suppliers for each of our parquet ranges.

Formaldehyde emission: E1

Formaldehyde is a gas that comes into play in the production of wooden panels, made of MDF. It is therefore present in our daily life all around us. Be careful, however, not to have too high concentrations of this gas because this can cause inconvenience. The European Union has therefore ruled on formaldehyde by limiting discharges by very strict standards. The designation E1 proves that the maximum legally admissible formaldehyde content of 0.1 ppm (= 0.12 mg / m3 of air) is not exceeded. All Decoplus floors meet current standards; the E1 standard.

VOC emission: A +

Volatile organic compounds are a recent concept in the panoply of European standards. This represents the rejection of "polluting" emissions by everyone. There are a large number of substances that are present in all the materials around us. This is not new, but environmental awareness means that we are now monitoring the air quality and the VOC level that consumer products release, among other things for floor coverings such as parquet. 

VOCs can come from certain glues, putty, or varnish. it is therefore advisable to ventilate your interior well to renew the ambient air. Our products are assembled with glues and finishing products with a very low VOC level allowing us to obtain an A + rating.

Reaction to fire: Cfl or Dfl

By the term "reaction to fire" the properties of a floor are determined to influence the appearance and development of a fire. The reaction to fire classification system for construction products is described in standard EN 13501–1. The European standard defines seven main classes (A1fl, A2fl, Bfl, Cfl, Dfl, Efl and Ffl). Classes A1fl and A2fl include non-combustible products, such as concrete and steel. The classes Efl and Ffl are used for floors with the worst performance in terms of reaction to fire or for floors that have not been tested for reaction to fire. Wood is by its nature a flammable material. Without flame retardant treatment, wood is often classified in category D under specific conditions. In addition to the classification, an additional indication is provided with regard to the development of smoke caused by a fire. This subdivision goes from s1 (little smoke development), passing through s2 (moderate smoke development) to s3 (unlimited smoke).
