Wood specie specification
The use of Oak in flooring is very widespread, notably because of its excellent stability. It is prized for domestic use in temperate climates. Oak is a wood with character, both classic and timeless, which goes well with all types of decor. Monnin Hardness : between 3 and 4,5. Density : 700 kg/m3. Resistance to insects : good. Dimensional stability : medium. Oak sligthly shift over time.
Les Sciés : Planed and sawn in the factory, they are worked using the latest technological innovations for a unique, industrial-style loft result. This is a mechanical technique that produces a sawn look on the surface of the floorboards causing their texture and aspect to be changed. The "saw cuts" bring texture to the wood and emphasize on its authentic aspect. This type of flooring resists well to wear and tear and is recommended for high traffic area.
Chêne de l'Est is the leader of aged parquet flooring. They created a unique machine for sawing. This wood flooring is machined until it becomes soft while you can see the saw cut. Recommended for both high traffic area and domestic use, it is a cosy, long lasting and easy to maintain floor covering.
Smoked finish is an alternative to older wood with colours that have been weathered over time. This treatment speeds up the aging process of wood's natural colours and depending on whether it contains knots or sapwoods, can achieve different colour shades.
Bevelled on 4 sides, planks will bring texture to the flooring.
After being oxidised, the wood is at its darkest colour. It will lighten over time.

Care and Maintenance
How to maintain oiled wooden flooring :
Do not wet the oiled wood flooring, simply clean it using dry means: sweeping brush, vacuum cleaner.
Periodic maintenance: using a damp cloth, maintain the wood with a natural soap for oiled wood floor maintenance. Regularly maintained, your oiled wood floor will preserve its natural warmth and beauty.
