Wood specie specification
The use of Oak in flooring is very widespread, notably because of its excellent stability. It is prized for domestic use in temperate climates. Oak is a wood with character, both classic and timeless, which goes well with all types of decor.
Monnin Hardness : between 3 and 4,5. Density : 700 kg/m3. Resistance to insects : good. Dimensional stability : medium. Oak sligthly shift over time
Les NATURELS : Varnished or naturally oiled, this wood flooring is timeless and brings the natural shades of wood's colour. Made of a hardwood layer that varies from 2,5 to 6 mm glued on to several real wood slatted bases and a counterbalancing layer
The wood is brushed along the grain to remove its soft parts. The "brushed" finish makes the surface slightly irregular to the touch, so the wood's texture is highlighted. This finish works best in rooms where there is heavy traffic, because scratches and scrapes are less noticeable due to the floor's irregularity.
A grade is one of the highest quality oaks. The flooring strips are made from the inner heartwood of the tree. Very small knots and light traces of sapwood are permitted on the solid wood facing of the flooring strip.
Recommended for high standard realisation.

Floating a wood floor, or "floating installation", is the quickest and easiest installation method for non-professionals, and can be undertaken by any DIY enthusiast.
The principle is very straightforward: assemble the flooring by glueing or clipping the strips together using their tongue and groove joints. The strips themselves are not stuck to the floor at all, hence the term "floating installation". This is an easier and more adaptable method to use when laying over the top of an existing floor-covering (plastic floorings, carpets, tiles, stone…). Advice : add 10% to your existing surface
