Wood specie specification
Oak is traditionnally use and is very widespread. It matches perfectly all type of decoration, no matter the color of the furnitures and walls. Monnin Hardness : between 3 and 4,5. Density : 700 kg/m3. Resistance to insects : good. Dimensional stability : medium. Oak sligthly shift over time.
Multiply : Glued onto a multiply wood base of 9 layers of birch, the wood flooring has a wear layer that is just as deep as that of solid wood (4 mm of hardwood) . Classic finishes and remarkable stability for long-lasting and timeless result.
The CD grade allows all type of knots and traces of sapwood on the facing. These natural defects are part of wood's appeal as an elegant and unique, living material.
Whitewashed : This technique is done by covering the wood surface with a smooth pigmented paste (usually white) to fill in the wood's open pores. The desired effect is a contrast between the colour of the applied paste and the wood's natural colour. This contrast can be enhanced by "brushing" the parquet.
The "brushed" finish makes the surface slightly irregular to the touch, so the wood's texture is highlighted. This finish works best in rooms where there is heavy traffic, because scratches and scrapes are less noticeable due to the floor's irregularity.
Decoplus Parquets can help you find a professional for laying your wood flooring.
Floating a wood floor, or "floating installation", is the quickest and easiest installation method for non-professionals, and can be undertaken by any DIY enthusiast.
The principle is very straightforward: assemble the flooring by glueing or clipping the strips together using their tongue and groove joints. The strips themselves are not stuck to the floor at all, hence the term "floating installation". This is an easier and more adaptable method to use when laying over the top of an existing floor-covering (plastic floorings, carpets, tiles, stone…). Advice : add 10% to your existing surface
